Designed to impart the foundational wheelworking skills, we start with the emphasis on basics. Progressing through hands-on sessions focusing on correct centering, opening, and shaping the cylinder, participants delve into practising, refining the form and finally learning to use trimming tools to finish their pieces. Towards the end, we concentrate on perfecting the cylinder and troubleshooting common issues. This course aims to equip beginners with the essential techniques to create their well-crafted first few forms on the pottery wheel. The participants will pick the best of their pieces for keeps.
